The PGA Tour heads to Puerto Vallarta this week for the Mexico Open.

Vidanta Vallarta is a par-71 that is 7,456 yards long. Some of the game's best, like Scotty Scheffler, won't play, but many other big names are off the team.

When it comes to tournament betting, we've got you covered with everything you need, from odds to best bets.

Let's dive into its action.

beloved

Tony Finau has been on fire here for the past few years and is returning to this event.

Finau set a course record last year on his way to victory, shooting 24-under to beat Jon Rahm by three strokes. Rahm had won the tournament the year before, but Finau was far behind, finishing just one stroke off the lead.

Naturally, Finau is favorite to win this tournament at +800. Nicolai Højgaard has the second best odds to win at +1400 After that comes a big jump to the next group of boys in the +2000 range

Now that we've covered the basics, let's get to the top favorites and my portfolio for this tournament.

Odds and Fields*

Tony Finau: +800 (bet $10 to win $90 total)
Nikolai Hojgaard: +1400 (bet $10 to win $150 total)
Stefan Jaeger: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)
Keith Mitchell: +2200 (bet $10 to win $230 total)
Thomas Daughtry: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Emiliano Grillo: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Taylor Pendrith: +2500 (bet $10 to win $260 total)
Thorbjørn Olesen: +3000 (Bet $10 to win a total of $310)
Patrick Rogers: +3300 (Bet $10 to win a total of $340)
Eric Van Rooyen: +3300 (Bet $10 to win a total of $340)
Davis Thompson: +3300 (Bet $10 to win a total of $340)

*Odds as of 2/21/24

To make long-shot outright bets

If you follow me Twitter Or read this column, you know I like to bet on golf long shots (+2000 or more). There's something thrilling about holding a lottery ticket late on a Sunday. It also presents you with multiple hedging opportunities if you want to eliminate some of your risk.

I know Finau and some big dogs are here this week, but I see a dark horse making some noise. Long shots dominate in 2024, so hopefully, we'll get a piece this weekend.

Most of my bets this week are based on course history. Here are some people worth splashing out on pizza for:

Taylor Pendrith +2500
Keith Mitchell +3500
Cameron Champ +6500
Jonathan Vegas +7000
