2024 PGA Championship Predictions, Chris 'The Bear' Falicer's Expert Picks

“Bear Bets” are real bets that Chris “The Bear” Fallica is actually making.

As the second major of the year is finally here, PGA Championship Tee off Thursday at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky.

Scotty Scheffler Current betting favorite at +400.

Since this is the biggest tournament of the year, let's dive into the bets I'm making for this event.

Cam Smith +3500 to win; +350 Top 10
Cam Smith +130 vs Victor Hovland

I want to say straight away that you don't need to tell me it will take a monster effort to beat Scotty Scheffler and throw Rory McIlroy if you will. But Smith is a major champion who will be able to find his way between the short bending greens and make some birdies. He's finished outside the top 13 just three times in the last nine majors, and it certainly seems like he's been forgotten since cashing in on the LIV Tour. But don't make the mistake of forgetting what a good player he is.

with thegala +6600 to win; +220 Top 20

It's Thiegalla's career-high No. 9 and just one top 25 from his previous eight. So next time he will be first. But he has shown few signs of competing in major events. He finished sixth at Bay Hill, ninth at The Players and second at Sentry. He is one of the best putters on tour and ranks sixth on tour in SG:Total The PGA has a history of producing some surprising first-time major winners, and Thigala may fit the bill.

Chris Kirk +450 Top 20; +250 Top 30
Chris Kirk -115 Vs Harris English

Kirk capped a really nice year with a win in Hawaii, three other top 20s – including a 16th at the Masters – and three other top 30s. He's a good driver (12th SG off the tee) and has played PGA Championship courses well, finishing 29th, fifth and 31st the past three years.

Alex Noren +330 top 20; +190 Top 30

Yes, I know Noreen missed six-straight cuts at the majors before finishing 23rd at The Open last year, but his game has solidified this year. The 41-year-old hasn't missed a cut this season and has seven straight top 25 finishes, including a third two weeks ago at Byron Nelson.

Ludwig Aberg -153 Vs Bryson DeChambeau

I'm going to assume Aberg took last week off as a precaution to prepare for Valhalla. He lacks only one win in 2024. Runner-up at Augusta and Pebble, top 10 among Farmers and Players. I definitely trust him over 72 holes to handle the uncertain Dechambeau.
