Video – Tony Ferguson shared new training footage and hinted at the return of the UFC: “Fight mode activated”


Former interim UFC lightweight titleholder Tony Ferguson, tasked with preventing a record eighth straight defeat in his return to the Octagon, hinted at an imminent return to competition by posting new footage of his workout on social media.

Ferguson, a former interim lightweight champion, last competed at UFC 296 back in December, taking on Liverpool fighter Paddy Pimblett, losing a unanimous decision to the former Cage Warriors gold medalist.

And with that loss, Ferguson, an Oxnard native, suffered his seventh straight defeat, joining former duelweight titleholder B.J. Penn in the loss.

Tony Ferguson hints at UFC return

He recently revealed how he was offered a rematch with former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira in the form of a UFC Fight Pass Invitational grappling match. Ultimate Fighter 13 The winner, Ferguson said “fight mode” had been turned on – amid hints of a comeback.

“Battlemode (sic) activated – champion – CSO #Lock'dTheF*kIn Ska Doosh,” Tony Ferguson wrote on his X official account.

Undefeated since 2019, Ferguson scored a second-round TKO stoppage of former lightweight title challenger Donald Cerrone at UFC 238.

And despite UFC CEO Dana White's calls for him to continue throughout his storied career, Ferguson insisted earlier this year that he will continue to fight until he may not be able to anymore.

“I will fight until the wheels fall off,” said Tony Ferguson. “Damn, I’m retiring, man. If you've been competing for a long time, and I do three sports. I wanted to come back and play pro ball. I wanted to go and do one more damn thing. I wanted to do all this shit because I What boy.”
