Barella will become the highest paid Italian player in Serie A


Inter Milan midfielder Nicolo Barella is close to signing a new contract.

The Nerazzurri management has already agreed on all the terms of the contract with the 27-year-old player. According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the midfielder will sign a contract with the Milan club until mid-2029. Barella will earn around €7 million a year, making him the highest paid Italian footballer in Serie A.

Nicolo Barella's current employment agreement with Inter runs until 2026. In the current campaign, the midfielder has made 46 appearances for Simone Inzaghi's team in all competitions, scoring two goals and seven assists.
