Cahors Tennis Club: A Sunday of competitions

Overview of the results.

Three matches were scheduled for this Sunday: the semi-final of the Maury Mixed Challenge, the eighth final of the women's regional 3 and the semi-final of the 15/18 year old girls' Pyrenees Championship.

Let's start with the mixed match which was played away, in Bretenoux. After the singles, Cécile Ramisse's team led 2/1. Unfortunately, the double (two points) went to players from the north of the department, depriving the Cadurciens of the final. However, let us salute the good performance of this team for the first edition of the competition in the third series.

The ladies of the 1st women's team received the players from Grisolles in a knockout table. Sophie Ramon Idez and Stéphanie Lefebvre opened the ball on two contiguous courts and brought home the first points thanks to their solid victories in two sets. Martine Carrieu confirmed by offering herself a victory in three sets, synonymous with qualification for the quarter-final next Sunday, even before playing the doubles. The Cadurciennes won 5/0 and will continue their adventure against Bagnères-de-Bigorre!

Finally, the young girls took over to try to win, like last year, their ticket for the final in Balma. They welcomed Naucelle (Aveyron), a club represented by two young girls aged 17 and 18. For the doubles, Camélia Lapeyre (not yet 13 years old) was associated with Evia Tselikashvili, a duo which once again worked to give Cahors the first point of the match. Next, the two singles were launched in parallel: Evia on one court and Candice Louis on the second. It really came close for the matches to swing in favor of the Cadurciennes. The experience and patience of the opponents have borne fruit: they will be competing in the final on June 22. There was of course a lot of disappointment in the eyes of the TC Cahors players but they will come back next year!

Also note the lovely qualification of Camélia, a multi-racket player, for the French beach tennis championship which will be held at the end of August on the sand of Palavas-les-Flots!
