ShopRite LPGA Classic: Delacour stays in touch

Within a leaderboard as tight as that of the ShopRite LPGA Classic this week, seeing his name appear in 27th place does not mean that the last round will be reduced to a vague attempt to extricate himself from the soft underbelly of the ranking. Quite the contrary, and that's all that will be interesting about the third and final round this Sunday: all the players retained in the cut, 67 in number, are seven shots or less from the lead!

In the case that interests us, the 27th place of Perrine Delacour after 36 holes can lead to a top 10, a podium or even a victory, since the Frenchwoman is only five points behind the leader, the Korean Jenny Shin. A situation established after a second round played in 70 (-1), during which she recorded three birdies and two bogeys on her card, and from which she certainly emerged a little frustrated after taking 16 greens in regulation and conceding 33 putts.
