The opportunity for the eldest of the Lebrun brothers, 20 years old, to collect the points which will allow him to join his younger brother Félix, 5th in the world, at the Paris Olympics.

A month earlier, in May, Alexis Lebrun was still neck and neck for second French place at the Games with Toulouse's Simon Gauzy, author of several choice performances which allowed him to overtake his blue teammate in the world rankings at the end of May. But Alexis Lebrun would have a string of successes, first at the WTT Contender in Taiyuan, China, where he reached the final (beaten 4-1 by the Chinese Liang Jingkun, world number 3), then in Croatia.

The official selection known on June 18

The official selection will be known on June 18, 2024, the selection committee based on the “analysis of the results obtained (…) on players appearing in the first 20 places in the world ranking”, according to the Federation document French (FFTT) specifying the selection procedures.

A sign of the good understanding that reigns within the French team: Alexis and Simon are playing the doubles tournament together in Zagreb, where they are also qualified for the final, which will be played this Sunday at 2:45 p.m.
