2024 Olympic Games – Tennis. Who are the French qualified for the singles tournament?

The names of the eight French people qualified for the Paris tennis tournament are known. The race for the “Olympic race” ended at the end of Roland-Garros. As the tournament ended this Sunday, June 9, it can no longer be modified. Precisely, there will be four men and four women tricolors to once again set foot on the clay of Porte d'Auteuil.

Gracheva can thank the quota

Each nation can qualify, at most, four players of the same nationality per gender. This rule is to the delight of Varvara Gracheva, eighth finalist at Roland-Garros, and located 71st in the Olympic race. But given that the Czech Republic, Russia and the United States have more than four players in the top 64 (the table will start from the 32nd finals), this famous “cut” goes back, and Gracheva therefore includes it.

The one who was naturalized French a few months ago now, will be accompanied by the French number 1 Caroline Garcia. The other two qualified blues are Clara Burel and Diane Parry.

Mannarino's withdrawal beneficial for Moutet

Ugo Humbert is the first French player in the “Olympic race”, he will therefore play the tennis tournament during the Olympic Games. Normally, he would have been accompanied by Adrian Mannarino, Gaël Monfils and Arthur Fils. But it won't exactly be this selection that will be present at Porte d'Auteuil.

Adrian Mannarino is not a big fan of clay, so he should give up the Olympics. This therefore frees up a place for the fifth Frenchman, Corentin Moutet. Whoever reaches the round of 16 at RG overtakes Giovanni Mpetschi-Perricard and Arthur Rinderknech on the wire. He will therefore compete in his first Olympic Games.

For doubles, qualification has not yet been decided. The French Tennis Federation is giving itself until June 19.
