Check out the never-before-seen footage of Israel Adesanya after losing his belt at UFC 293 – Mixed Martial Arts

Never-before-seen footage of Israel Adesanya following his loss to Sean Strickland at UFC 293 has been revealed.

Israel Adesanya has been one of the most dominant middleweight champions in UFC history. Within the division, he made five belt defenses, beating the best in the world. He captured the title by knocking out Robert Whittaker in 2019. He then defeated Yoel Romero, Paulo Costa by TKO, then Vettori, Whittaker and Jared Cannonier by unanimous decision.

After losing her crown by suffering a TKO defeat to her bête noire Alex Pereira, Izzy achieved a huge comeback. In April 2023, the New Zealander inflicted a huge knockout on 'Poatan', being crowned champion for a second time middleweight of the UFC. However, this second reign was short-lived, as Adesanya suffered another defeat against Sean Strickland, who beat him by unanimous decision at UFC 293 last September (see the fight summary).

New images have just been revealed. We see Israel Adesanya's disappointment after losing his title a second time.

“You are still the champion” Adesanya's mother tells her son. “If you hang up your gloves today, you’re set for life.” So don't let anything bother you, okay? »

“It’s a good story for Strickland, I’m proud of him” Adesanya tells his father. “But I’ll get it.” We're going to get it (the title) back, okay? I promise “.

“Thank you for this opportunity” Adesanya tells UFC president Dana White. “Thank you for making this fight possible. Again, it doesn't matter. Even if it's his night, it doesn't matter, it's ancient history. It's a good story for him, it's a good story for America. That’s how it is, that’s the game.”

Israel Adesanya has proven on several occasions that he has the mentality of a champion. He could well return this year, notably against champion Dricus Du Plessis, who beat Sean Strickland last January at UFC 297.
