MMA Fighter Places One of Rarest Submissions – Mixed Martial Arts

A big finish took place during Full Contact Contender 38. Indeed, William Haycox placed a very rare submission on his evening opponent.

The scene took place during the Full Contact Contender 38 (FCC 38) event which took place on Saturday in Liverpool. British fighter William Haycox finished his Welsh opponent Ryan Lockyer with an extremely rare and extremely… painful submission. All in the first cover! Indeed, the stoppage took place when there was a little more than a minute remaining in this first round.

A rare submission to FCC 38

This finishing recalls that of Louis Glismann, who placed a rare submission at Oktagon 43. A submission worthy of the most impressive in the UFC that Charles Oliveira could inflict. The Brazilian has the record for submission victories in the American organization, and almost put Arman Tsarukyan to sleep at UFC 300.

Haycox is a highly touted lightweight prospect on the British scene. He has a great amateur career with a 10-0 record, and has finished every opponent by submission. Haycox earned his second victory in professional MMA, and remains undefeated. In his professional debut, the Briton scored a third-round submission victory. Subsequently, he defeated Danijel Grbic by unanimous decision.

Ryan Lockyer also has extensive amateur experience. He suffered his first defeat after scoring a first-round TKO victory in his professional debut which took place in March.
