The authoritative British publication FourFourTwo compiled a rating of the best strikers of the 90s of the last century.

There was also a place on the list for a Ukrainian Andrey Shevchenkowhich took 19th position.

“Andriy Shevchenko ended the 90s at Milan, but it was at Dynamo Kiev that Ukraine’s greatest player first made his mark on the European game. After scoring an impressive 39 goals in 41 matches in the 1997/98 season, Shevchenko added a further 33 in the 1998/99 season as Dynamo edged away from the Champions League final. His performance prompted Milan to break their own transfer record and sign the forward in 1999,” this is how the publication’s journalists described our compatriot.

Let us add that the Brazilian “Nibbler” Ronaldo topped the rating, the Italian Roberto Baggio was in second place, and the Argentinean Gabriel Batistuta was third.
