Former world cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew (30-3-1, 20 KO) expressed his opinion about the turning point in Anthony Joshua’s career.
According to Bellew, the reason was that in 2019 Jarrell Miller tested positive for various prohibited drugs before the fight with Joshua. Anthony was forced to fight against Andy Ruiz Jr., to whom he sensationally lost by knockout.
“There is no doubt that Joshua’s downfall began from that moment,” Bellew said.
Although Joshua regained his titles in a rematch with Ruiz six months later, many fans and experts believe the defeat signaled a change in style for the Briton. He later lost the titles to Oleksandr Usyk.
Now Joshua must prove to fans against Otto Wallin on December 23 that he is back on the rise.
