Borussia Monchengladbach leader recovered from cancer

Borussia Mönchengladbach defender Stefan Lainer has recovered from cancer.

Doctors diagnosed the football player with lymphoma at an early stage this summer. After several months of treatment, Lainer returns to training with his club.

“I’m very happy that I can once again fully concentrate on football and train with the team. The last few months have been a big challenge. I am very grateful to have received such support from family, friends, club and fans during this time. All this gave me strength. I would like to especially thank my wife and doctor,” Stefan shared his emotions with the official club website.

Let us add that Lainer moved to Borussia from the Austrian Salzburg in the summer of 2019, since then he has played 125 matches for the club from Mönchengladbach in all tournaments (scoring 4 goals).
