South African pacer Gerald Coetzee has been reprimanded for exhibiting dissent on the umpire’s choice throughout the fourth T20 Worldwide towards India in Johannesburg, the ICC stated on Tuesday. The incident befell when Coetzee made an inappropriate remark to the umpire after a supply was referred to as ‘vast’. “Within the fourth T20I between South Africa and India, Gerald Coetzee was discovered to have breached Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Gamers and Participant Assist Personnel, which pertains to ‘exhibiting dissent at an umpires choice throughout a world match’.
“Coetzee obtained a reprimand and had one demerit level added to his disciplinary report. He admitted the offence and accepted the sanction proposed by Andy Pycroft of the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Referees, due to this fact no formal listening to was wanted,” the ICC stated in a press launch.
On-field umpires Allahudien Paleker and Stephen Harris, third umpire Lubabalo Gcuma and fourth umpire Arno Jacobs levelled the cost towards the bowler.
