The first racket of Ukraine Elina Svitolina (No. 25 in the world ranking) is claiming an award from the WTA (Women’s Tennis Association).
Svitolina was nominated for “Comeback of the Year”. Together with Elina, Marketa Vondrousova, Karolina Muchova, Xie Shuwei and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova are vying for this award. This category includes tennis players whose ratings decreased compared to last year due to injuries, but who were able to return to the court and show good results.
Elina Svitolina will begin the new season in New Zealand. There, the 29-year-old tennis player will play in Auckland at the WTA 250 ASB Classic from January 1 to 7.
