Former England striker Michael Owen after deducting 10 points from Everton, he criticized the concept of financial fair play (FFP).
“Whether Everton deserve a points deduction or not is debatable, but I never liked FFP. There is definitely a better way to protect the future of clubs. FFP protects elite clubs and practically deprives catching up teams of any chance of creating competition,” Owen wrote.
Let us note that Everton was punished for violating the financial rules of the Premier League; the team dropped to penultimate place in the Premier League table.
