Rukh U-19 forward and scorer of the winning goal against Sarajevo Konstantin Kvas commented on the victory over their peers from Bosnia (3:1, 4:2 on aggregate) in the UEFA Youth League game:
“Our victory is quite natural. We were superior to our opponents for almost the entire match. Perhaps at the end of the match it was already a little more difficult, because the team got tired physically – the game was difficult. But we kept the result, played well, managed to score three goals. This strong-willed victory will give us a good impetus to play successfully in the next matches.
Of course, it’s unpleasant to miss in the first minutes. But we were able to show character and defeat Sarajevo. I want to thank Evgeniy Pastukh – he gave an incredible pass to me in the episode when I scored the second goal. All I had to do was get the ball into the net.
Now we have fantastic emotions, we are very happy. I know that our next opponent is Midtjylland, which defeated Famalican in a penalty shootout. Now we will fight the Danes.”
Rukh U-19 will play against Danish Midtjylland to qualify for the playoffs of the UEFA Youth League. The matches will take place on November 8 and 29.
