The first snow that fell in Gdansk, Poland on November 17 brought positive emotions to the players of the Ukrainian national team.
The snow flakes falling abundantly on the lawn of the Na Traugutta stadium seemed to remind us that Christmas and New Year’s time would be coming very soon. At such moments, apparently, every person involuntarily recalls the unforgettable childhood emotions of anticipation of the winter holiday.
On the other hand, it’s good that the temperature, although minimal, is still above zero, which means the snow melted instantly. After all, the cold was still there, so intense movement was the only way to keep the players warm. And the coaching staff made efforts to ensure that the work was full of dynamics.
After a run, a physical trainer Vitaly Kulyba invited the kids to play tic-tac-toe on the lawn: the teams competed among themselves for quick thinking in order to create a winning diagonal from training bibs. The goalkeepers, under the leadership of Rustam Khudzhamov, also worked “to react” nearby.
After this, players completed specific tasks in a series format. As in previous days, most of the training was devoted to warming up the tactical scheme for the match with the Italians.
There are only three days left until the decisive confrontation. On the morning of November 18, the blue-and-yellows will have fitness classes at the hotel: training on a wet, sticky field was enough physical exercise for the players. After lunch, the Ukrainians will go to the local airfield, from where they will head for Leverkusen.
