Olympics Tennis

Tennis was part of the Summer Olympic Games program from the inaugural 1896 Summer Olympics, but was dropped after the 1924 Summer Olympics due to disputes between the International Lawn Tennis Federation and the International Olympic Committee over how to define amateur players. After two appearances as a demonstration sport in 1968 and 1984 (with a U-21 age limit), it returned as a full medal sport at the 1988 Summer Olympics open for all players regardless of their age and status and has been played at every edition of the Games since then. The Tennis tournament at the 2020 Summer Olympics is scheduled to be held between July 24 and August 1, 2021 at the Ariake Tennis Park in Tokyo. The tournament is scheduled to feature 172 players in five events: singles and doubles for both men and women and the return of mixed doubles for the third consecutive time. The hard-court surface at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games was announced to be DecoTurf, chosen by the Tokyo Organizing Committee. This marks the fifth time the surface will be utilized for the Olympic Games.[ Seasons 2020 Teams Australia Tenni -11 Belarus Tennis -11 Belgium Tennis -11 Czech Republic -11 France Tennis -11 Germany Tennis -11 Great Britain T -6 Italy Tennis -11 Poland Tennis -11 Russia Tennis -11 Serbia Tennis -11 Spain Tennis -11 Switzerland Ten -11 United States T -11 Key () Missing Artwork (- 4) Missing 4 Players: Data and Artwork () Team Complete Trophy Icon Fanart Banner Other Links
