Atlético Madrid President Enrique Cerezo believes that the project to create a European Super League is necessary in order to interrupt the financial hegemony of English clubs in European football:
“The Super League will help equalize the income of clubs. If the Super League project dies, then only the British will benefit. Now they are quietly taking the best players to the Premier League,” Cerezo said.
It was previously reported that UEFA is planning a new reform of the European Cups.
