Portuguese Primeira Liga club Casa Pia, currently 15th in the league table, just one point clear of the relegation zone and three points clear of the relegation zone, has announced the appointment of Pedro Moreira as head coach.
The 48-year-old specialist has signed a contract valid until the end of this season.
Pedro Moreira is known in Ukraine as one of Paulo Fonseca’s assistants at Shakhtar. The specialist spent three years in the Pitmen’s camp, and subsequently worked with Fonseca at Roma.
Last September, Moreira began his independent coaching career, heading Torrense. Pedro managed to save this team from relegation from the second strongest division of Portuguese football, but in the summer the parties ended their cooperation, and Moreira was unemployed for several months.
