Starting from the 2025/2026 season, the principle of distribution of prize money between clubs will change in the Premier League. The redistribution will benefit the top clubs of the championship.
For the 2022/2023 season, champions Manchester City received a total of £161.3 million, while the bottom team, Southampton, received £100.3 million.
Starting from the 2025/2026 season, the ratio between the first and last club will increase from 1.6 to 1 to 1.8 to 1. This change is dictated primarily by an increase in the share of income from outside England in the overall structure of the Premier League’s income from the sale of television rights.
