Mike Perry Unsure Darren Till Fight Will Happen, Teases Interest in Caleb Plant: 'Come on, Motherfuckers'

Mike Perry is running out of options at BKFC.

After defeating former BKFC champion and UFC veteran Thiago Alves in just 60 seconds at BKFC KnuckleMania 4, the undefeated bare-knuckle fighter challenged Darren Till to the fight he's been waiting for for months. Before his win, Perry claimed that Till had turned down a $2 million offer to meet him, but the two continued their war of words on social media immediately after his latest win.

Perry believes Till's hesitation boils down to a bare-knuckle fight, but that won't stop him from fighting under different rules if that's what it takes.

“Obviously Darren, since he said no to $2 million, doesn’t want to fight bare-knuckled,” Perry told MMA Fighting. “I already said this guy doesn’t want to fight bare-knuckled, but I want to risk punching him in the face.

“Whether it’s something where I have to put pillows on my arms or even smaller pillows—Platinum Pit Fights, that’s close. It's around the corner and we want to do a card and a show and it will be my promotion and we can offer and pay very well and we will have gloves so you don't have to be so afraid. Just my opportunity to hit this guy and settle the differences. This is what I'm looking for.”

With wins over Alves, Eddie Alvarez, Luke Rockhold and Michael “Venom” Page, Perry has already highlighted some prominent names that BKFC has been able to secure as opponents.

Perry is not very interested in answering the challenge of current BKFC middleweight champion David Mundell because he already knocked him out in an MMA fight back in 2016. Mundell also has significantly less value than Perry's previous opponents.

That's why the Till fight was so intriguing. Now Perry is left without an ideal opponent for his next fight.

“I don’t see anyone being left defenseless,” Perry said candidly. “I mean Thiago, we've never seen anyone do what I just did to Thiago Alves. He's had two bare-knuckle fights in his entire UFC career, of which I thought Eddie (Alvarez) had one of the bare-knuckle fights. He has to let me down a little, right? But he left, he gave up, and all these guys give up when I hit them with my bare knuckles.

“I was trying to get a fight (with Darren Till) and give these other guys time to come here, get their feet in the door, get their knuckles wet, beat up somebody else. If you do it perfectly, then we say. I'm a cash cow. I'm a money fight. I said it. Come on, bastards.”

If Till isn't interested, Perry remains open for business, especially if there's a challenge worthy enough to get his attention.

One potential option could be a crossover fight with the top boxer after Perry briefly tried his hand at the sport. He has also been the stunt double for Logan Paul and Jake Paul at recent events.

Perry had heard that at least one former champion was interested, and that definitely caught his attention.

“There are definitely some incredible boxers out there,” Perry said. “Some of them are so good at throwing that they could come and put on a show. For example, I heard the name Caleb Plant come up on the table and I was very interested. I think he's an incredible fighter and I'd love to get the recognition to face a guy like that.

“Just let some people respect my name because I put a lot into it, I train really hard and I can fight.”

Plant, 31, has faced a long list of top fighters during his boxing career, including recent bouts with Canelo Alvarez and David Benavidez. It remains to be seen whether he'll actually test the waters in bare-knuckle fighting or not, but Perry is more than happy to welcome him to the sport.

Perry isn't closing the door on other opportunities available to him, be it BKFC, boxing or even a return to MMA, because he says – unlike Till – he's ready for any fight.

“Whether it’s gloves, no gloves, any style, mixed martial arts, bare-knuckle boxing, boxing itself, I can fight,” Perry said. “I believe that I have the opportunity to become the most successful athlete in combat sports by moving in and out of different organizations, sports, and simply moving from MMA to boxing, bare-knuckle boxing and moving to boxing or returning to MMA, I believe. I can succeed. Let's make this possible. Let's go to. That's what I'm here for.”
