Messi “contract” on a napkin is up for auction

In 2000, Barcelona were not sure about the feasibility of attracting Lionel Messi to the academy. However, agent Horacio Gaggioli told the director of the Catalan club, Carles Rexac, that he would offer the talented player to other clubs, and that Messi could end up in the Real Madrid academy. The Barcelona representative did not want to allow the loss of a promising player, but at the same time he did not have time to draw up a full-fledged document. Then Reshac took a napkin and wrote on it the club’s commitment to sign Messi while maintaining the financial conditions that the parties had agreed upon.

Now, according to the Goal portal, Gaggioli's agent has put the napkin up for auction. Bidding began at 220 thousand pounds. It is expected that the final amount will exceed 300 thousand and may even reach half a million.
