Ryan Garcia: Errol Spence an easier target than Haney – Boxing News

Ryan Garcia says his fight with Errol Spence will be “easier” than his recent bout against Devin Haney.

Garcia (25-1, 20 KOs) predicts he will make the job easier for former IBF/WBA/WBC welterweight champion Spence (28-1, 22 KOs) by knocking him out in three rounds at whatever weight he wants.

As big as Spence is, perhaps he should be 160 pounds because he has gained size since his last fight against Terence Crawford last July, which he lost by ninth-round knockout.

It may be too difficult for Spence to drop down to 154 pounds because he has been out of the ring for some time and, unlike Crawford, has gained weight.

After his recent win over Devin Haney, Ryan looked like he was around 160 pounds, so it wouldn't be a big deal if he and Spence met at 160 pounds. It won't be a big deal at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. Ryan now lives in Dallas, which is convenient.

Silence is gold

Spence, 34, has been quiet since Ryan blasted him on social media yesterday, calling him nothing more than an anti-customizer and saying he doesn't accept customization. Let's hope Spence isn't a coward, worrying about taking another knockout loss and risking his career going downhill.

Some fans believe that Spence doesn't want to suffer another loss like the one he suffered to Crawford and instead wants to play it safe by fighting Sebastian Fundora next. This is an easier fight for Errol. Fans smell fear from Spence, believing he needs a trusted sidekick to boost his confidence after what happened to him last July.

“It’s an easier fight than Devin Haney. I’m going to knock Errol Spence out in three rounds,” Ryan Garcia said on social media about the fight between him and former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr., which he is targeting at 154 pounds.

“When I fight Errol Spence,” Ryan said, correcting an interview about him by using the word “if” about his fight and Errol. “I’ll fight him at whatever weight he wants.”

If Spence loses to Fundora in a fight for less money, he may regret turning down Ryan's fight offer because it resonates with the boxing public.
