Jorge Masvidal Claims Colby Covington Is a Closet Drag Queen: 'He Should Be More Open About Himself'

The decades-long rivalry between Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington has taken another unexpected turn.

Although they only met once in the Octagon, Masvidal's feud with his former friend-turned-frenemy is one of the most notable in UFC history, and it appears to be far from over.

During a recent interview with Vlad TV, Gamebred was asked about the allegations made against him by Covington, suggesting that his exit from UFC 287 was nothing more than a ploy to avoid PED testing.

“It’s a fake retirement,” Covington told Inside Fighting. “We all know people in the UFC who don't retire, they'll come out of the USADA pool, maybe go on steroids and come back because they don't know how to make money any other way than fighting. »

Snapping back, Masvidal suggested Covington would say anything to try to maintain his relevance—by no means an unreasonable statement for anyone familiar with the three-time UFC title challenger's work. However, what came out of Masvidal's mouth next had everyone scratching their heads.

“This guy will say anything,” Masvidal said. “This guy wears skirts, doesn’t tell anyone about it and falls asleep in a thong. Perhaps he should be more open about himself. There aren't really any PED tests anymore because USADA is disbanded, so here's another damn theory.

“Colby will just say anything to get people to talk about his stupid name, but ever since I “allegedly” took his soul outside of Papi's Steakhouse, he hasn't posted or talked about me. He doesn’t talk shit about me.”

For the record, the UFC still tests for banned substances on a walk-in basis, but instead of going through the United States Anti-Doping Agency, the testing is now done through Drug Free Sport International.

Just ask Jon Jones.

As for his comments about Colby Covington, is Gamebred taking a page from his former friend's playbook and just saying some outlandish crap to grab a few headlines? Or does “Chaos” regularly wear thongs under his combat trunks?

We may never know. And frankly, we probably don't want to.
