Tarkhanov spoke out for the abolition of VAR: “With it, football turns out to be lifeless”

Former head coach of Ural Alexander Tarkhanov in an interview with an online publication “Euro-Futbol.Ru” stated that the RPL needs to follow the example of the Swedish championship and abolish VAR.

“I also think that we need to abolish VAR. The referees may make mistakes at some points, hence all the interest in football. VAR takes up a lot of time when referees watch replays. It turns out to be some kind of lifeless football,” Tarkhanov said.

Earlier it became known that the Swedish Football Federation came to the conclusion that VAR is not needed in this championship. Sweden has become the first European country to abolish the practice of video screenings.
