Uriah Faber stopped by to discuss the revolutionary college MMA program that he and others will lead. During his time with us, he also kindly shared his reaction to Jose Aldo's amazing win at UFC 301 and Aldo's desire to “cut the line” and fight Sean O'Malley for UFC bantamweight gold.
Faber and Aldo go back in time, sharing the cage together during the title match at WEC 48 back in 2010. Since then, they have always been very friendly with each other, and “The California Kid” is very happy to see Aldo's success. at 135 pounds in the UFC.
Aldo's last fight saw him defeat young up-and-comer Jonathan Martinez at UFC 301. After the fight, Aldo spoke about his title ambitions and desire to take one last shot. Unsurprisingly, MMA fans were very excited about Jose Aldo's final fight, and Urijah Faber was quick to voice his opinion on the matter.

When asked about Aldo skipping the line to face Sean O'Malley for bantamweight gold, Urijah Faber was emotional. “I would really like to see that,” he told Lowkick MMA reporter Makoa Goble. “I think these are some of the best conditions I've seen Aldo in. I think there is a lot of acclimatization to this weight category. He's always been a big guy. When I fought him at 145, I felt like he was a big guy.”
“I think it took his body a while to adjust to 135 pounds, but I thought he looked amazing. We don't speak the same language, so when I see Aldo it's mostly an exchange of greetings and love. We always had great energy. Before we fought, after we fought, and the years after retirement for me.”
